BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID... OF MISSING OUT ON HALLOWEEN HAUNTS AND HAPPENINGS AT MOHONK MOUNTAIN HOUSE! From the thrills and chills of a haunted house to navigating your way through an "escape room", there are endless ways for all ages to enjoy Halloween at our 147-year-old Victorian castle resort. Our haunted weekend features frightening festivities, including campfires, a costume ball, trick-or-treating, and more!

Mohonk Mountain House is a National Historic Landmark resort located just 90 miles north of New York City. Overnight rates include breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and cookies, and most activities, including hiking, boating, tennis, midweek golf, and use of the indoor heated swimming pool and fitness center in our Spa wing.

Friday, October 28

8:00 p.m.  The Haunted House—
Featuring "Childhood Memories"

Things that go bump in the night aren't the only things you should be afraid of. Relive your classic childhood memories with a horrifying twist; everything you thought to be safe is no longer. Not recommended for children under the age of 7.

9:00 p.m.  Hudson Valley Bluegrass Band
Celebrate the season with some Old Time Country and Bluegrass Music! Grab your partner and dance or sit back and enjoy the songs of days gone by. 

9:00 p.m.  Campfire Sing-Along with Vickie Russell
On this crisp autumn evening, you’ll be on the edge of your seat in front of a blazing campfire savoring roasted marshmallows while enjoying an old-fashioned sing-along with musician Vickie Russell. 


Saturday, October 29

9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Escape Room: "The Missing Blueprints"
Step back in time to 1919. Daniel Smiley wants to surprise the Old Boys Golf Club with the design of a new tower at Sky Top; but he hid the plans to keep the surprise and now he can't find them! Hurry as you help Daniel retrace his steps and find the blue prints by solving a series of puzzles and clues before his meeting begins. 

10:00 a.m.  BRICK KIDS! Fun with LEGO® Bricks!
Innovative, educational and amazing! Join Linda Tedesco from Brick Kids to build fantastic Halloween creations out of LEGO® bricks. This program will start off with basic construction for children ages 5-8 followed by more advanced construction for older children. Fun for all ages! (Note: Brick Kids is not affiliated with the LEGO® company.)

1:30 p.m.  Trick or Treat Bag with Casey Carr
Come and custom design your own trick or treat bag. Casey will lead you through this fun project using fabric scraps to decorate durable cloth bags to be used for trick or treating!  Can also be used for carrying books or lunch; always reminding you of your stay at Mohonk Mountain House.  All materials will be supplied. 

 2:30 p.m.  Creepy Creature Adventure
Meet some of the animals that haunt our dreams, make our "skin crawl," and the hair stand up on the back of our necks! We’ll discuss animals that are perfectly at home in the shadows & in swamps, and are on the prowl under the moonlit sky. Join us as we demystify these amazing creatures and help people of all ages to cross the line from fear to respect and appreciation. Animal Embassy will present the beauty in these often maligned and misunderstood creatures. Meet “spooktacular” Animal Ambassadors such as a Pink-toed Tarantula, an Emperor Scorpion, a Sinaloan Milk Snake, a Boa Constrictor, an Axolotl, an Argentine Black & White Tegu and enjoy the spirit of Halloween!

4:00 p.mAfternoon Tea
Sip tea or cider, and munch on festive cookies.

4:00 p.m.  Trick-or-Treat at our House!
Be sure to bring your favorite costume to go trick-or-treating around the Mountain House!

9:00 p.m.  Gala Halloween Costume Ball
Be elegant, be scary, be wild, be beautiful—this is a night to be daring and carefree. Deejay Joe Daily spins tunes that will make skeletons shimmy, witches waltz, and demons dance the night away! Later on, the costume competition provides the perfect showcase for your original creations.


Sunday, October 30

10:00 a.m.  Make Your Own Mohonk Scrapbook with Casey Carr
Casey will instruct and help you create a wonderful scrapbook to hold all your great memories of your time here at Mohonk Mountain House. All materials will be supplied.

10:30 a.m.  Trick-or-Treat with our Kids’ Club
Kids enrolled in the award-winning Mohonk Kids’ Club can go trick-or-treating around the Mountain House with our Activities Staff. Be sure to bring your favorite costume!

11:30 a.m.  Birds of Prey with Annie Mardiney
Annie is a licensed wildlife rehabilitator specializing in raptors and owls.  Come and see members of Annie’s flock as she debunks myths and reveals some startling truths about these wild hunters!
