Our refresh culminated in our new Lakeview Summerhouse, an outdoor sanctuary enveloped by nature. Perched on the cliffs overlooking Lake Mohonk with a majestic view of Sky Top Tower, the summerhouse provides a truly unique setting for spa treatments and private mindfulness, yoga, and meditation sessions. The Mountain House Rustic Crew worked in collaboration with Robert D. Henry Architects to create a nature-inspired space that blends seamlessly into the landscape. You will feel a unique connection with nature from the trees that surround the summerhouse, to the cliff-side setting, the beautiful lake below, and the breathtaking views of the Shawangunk Ridge and Sky Top Tower.

Lakeview Summerhouse Massage

The ultimate Mohonk Mountain House spa experience, the Lakeview Summerhouse massage draws from the curative properties of immersing your spirit in the natural rhythms of the lake and the mountains that surround you. Your treatment begins overlooking Lake Mohonk as you enjoy a 15-minute hydrating and soothing hand and foot ritual. Next, restore and balance with a customized 45-minute massage using aromatic oils inspired by the Earth’s unique forest biomes. The result – a tribute to nature and a wonderful way to embrace a perfect moment of mindfulness.
Private Mindfulness Session with Nina Smiley, Ph.D

Nina Smiley, Director of Mindfulness Programming graduated from Vassar College and earned a doctoral degree in psychology from Princeton University. She is co-author of The Three Minute Meditator (translated into 7 languages), Mindfulness in Nature, and MetaPhysical Fitness. Nina taught psychology at the University of Maryland and directed public relations at the American Psychological Association. She has studied mindfulness with Jack Kornfield (founder of Spirit Rock Meditation Center), Sharon Salzberg (co-founder of Insight Meditation Society), and others. Nina is on the advisory board of the Breath-Body-Mind Foundation. Nina delights in sharing insights about meditation and wellness. Nina’s work has been featured in O, The Oprah Magazine; Real Simple; Shape; Self; Huffington Post; InStyle; Organic Spa; Spafinder; Family Circle; Prevention; and The New York Times.
