Mohonk Mountain House offers countless activities and experiences for guests of all ages. Whether you want to try your hand at tomahawk throwing, paddleboard across the lake, or relax in the tranquility of our award-winning spa — you can be as active or relaxed as you choose.

Alignment Yoga
Oct 15 @ 9:00 am – 9:45 am

A slow breath and alignment focused vinyasa class, the emphasis of which is postural alignment. We will incorporate the stabilizing muscles of the hips, abdomen and side body as we slowly move through classic yoga postures.

Art Exhibit
Oct 15 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Inspired by WPA National Park posters from the 1930s, Ben Fishman and Alee Desiderio display a series of iconic Mohonk scenes in a retro style.

Monsters of Mohonk Poster Show by Ben Fishman. Celebrate the month of Halloween with this exhibit that highlights a little-known aspect of Mohonk history: monsters who have visited the Mountain House.

Barn Museum

Stop by and peruse our unique treasures and antiquities in our historic Barn Museum, built in 1888.

Adult Swim
Oct 15 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Ages 18 and older. All under the age of 18 must leave the pool area during this time

Balance and Strength
Oct 15 @ 10:00 am – 10:45 am

A class focusing on strength and alignment using your breath and your body weight to discover, refine and increase your ability to move with more ease and confidence. Depending upon the conditions, we will incorporate the beautiful natural surroundings that Mohonk has to offer in our pursuit of wellness. On occasion, dumbbells, jump ropes and other accessories will be used in the class.

Brisk Morning Hike
Oct 15 @ 10:00 am

Brisk hike along Cope’s Lookout Path, Humpty Dumpty Road, Long Woodland Drive, and Lake Shore Road. This hike is moderate to fast pace over relatively flat terrain with gradual uphill portions. Approximately 3 miles. Age 7 and up. Proper footwear is required: sneakers or hiking boots.

Woods Wisdom
Oct 15 @ 10:15 am – 11:30 am

From aidless navigation to survival skills and everything in between. Join Naturalist Michael for this fun and informative hike. 1 mile. Easy pace.

Yoga Cross
Oct 15 @ 11:00 am – 11:45 am

A class incorporating yoga postures and other body weight modalities to improve breathing, balance, flexibility and strength. Warm up followed by continuous movement lead to specific instruction on arm and leg stances that require strength, stamina and balancing skills.

House Tour
Oct 15 @ 11:15 am

Join a member of the Mohonk staff for a brief history and tour of the House and facilities. Great for first-time guests!

Leisurely Afternoon Hike
Oct 15 @ 2:00 pm

Leisurely hike around the lake. Approximately 1 mile. Age 7 and up. Proper footwear is required: sneakers or hiking boots.

Qi Gong
Oct 15 @ 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Learn the ancient form of meditative exercises to restore and balance the natural flow of life energy. Ages 16+. Classes limited to 24 participants. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to start of classes.

Glacier Tracking
Oct 15 @ 2:30 pm – 3:45 pm

The last glacier left about 14,000 years ago but its footprints remain. We’ll hike around the lake to find glacial evidence with naturalist Michael.  1 mile. Moderate pace.

Wine Glass Painting
Oct 15 @ 2:30 pm

Design your own one of kind wine glass! Oil based paint markers will be used.  $20+ tax per glass fee.

Location: Art Studio

Guided Mountain Bike Ride
Oct 15 @ 3:00 pm

Take a guided ride of the mountain on wheels! Ages 16 and up. Approximately 4-6 miles. All levels welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to start time to get fitted for a bicycle. Additional fee of $30 for this activity includes mountain bike and helmet.

Tai Chi Stretch
Oct 15 @ 3:15 pm – 4:00 pm

Adapting movements borrowed from several Tai Chi/Qigong traditions, this class emphasizes releasing tension bound joints and connective tissues. Ages 16+. Classes limited to 24 participants. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to start of class.

Tomahawk Throwing
Oct 15 @ 3:30 pm

Please join one of our Mohonk staff for this fun and challenging survival skill. Up to 25 people. Ages 13 and up. Closed-toe shoes required. All participants must go through a 15 minute safety protocol at the beginning of the session. This cannot be repeated if missed.

Location: Archery Range on Copes Lookout Path

Rhythm Meditation
Oct 15 @ 4:15 pm – 5:00 pm

A breathing meditation based on the rhythms of nature. Ages 16 and older. Classes limited to 24 participants, first come first serve. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to start of classes. No late admittance.

Evening Movie: “Winchester”
Oct 15 @ 8:45 pm

Running time: 99 minutes. Rated: PG-13. 2018. Ensconced in her sprawling California mansion, eccentric firearm heiress Sarah Winchester believes she is haunted by the souls of people killed by the Winchester repeating rifle.

Wildlife of the Shawangunks
Oct 15 @ 9:00 pm – 10:00 pm

Join educator David Johnson for an educational and informative look at the amazing wildlife of our beautiful mountain range.

Location: Lake Lounge

*Fitness Classes: Ages 16 and older. Classes limited to 24 participants, first come first serve. Please arrive 5 to 10 minutes prior to start of classes. See inside of Activities Schedule for classes and times. In consideration of other guests, please note there is no admittance once classes are 10 minutes into session. No late admittance to Meditation classes.
