Join us as we celebrate the monumentous 90th anniversary of Garden Holiday with this year’s theme of ‘An Artist’s Garden’! Flowerbeds will showcase acclaimed artists including Gustav Klimt, Claude Monet, Hieronymus Bosch, Georgia O’keefe, and Vincent Van Gogh through vibrant colors, abstract concepts, and varying textures. Engage with the Artists and learn their stories through a variety of events including drawing, painting, and masquerade workshops, as well as horticulture lectures, musical performances, and the lasting legacy of Garden Holiday.

Welcome and Garden Tour

Join Mohonk’s Garden Supervisor, Clinton Claussen and Head Gardener Ian Reifenberger for a guided stroll into the gardens to begin your stay. While meeting our Garden Holiday Team, make sure to pick up your welcome letter, annual themed pin, and a cup of tea!
Bram Kincheloe Quartet

Led by drummer Bram Kincheloe, this quartet features the renowned talents of pianist Julian Shore, bassist Adam Cote, and vocalist Kim Anderson. Between them all, these artists have shared the stage with the likes of Ambrose Akinmusire, John Pattituci, Brian Blade, George Coleman, Lee Konitz, Fabian Almazan, and many others.

Celebrating 90 Years of Music and Wine Tasting*

Mirroring Garden Holiday’s momentous anniversary, celebrate 90 years of music and wine pairing, guided by Mohonk’s Beverage Manager Sam Harris and pianist Alex Peh. Explore curated wines from global regions, matched with timeless compositions spanning nine decades. Raise your glass to the enduring fusion of culture, as music and wine intertwine seamlessly. *Pre-registration is required with a $45 per person program fee for admittance to the tasting. Space is limited. Participants must be age 21 or over to attend.
Garden Movie Night: ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’

Join us among the colorful flowerbeds as we watch them come to life during this evening’s movie ‘Gnomeo and Juliet’ (2011). Separated by a garden fence and a feud, are blue gnomes on one side and red gnomes on the other. This doesn’t stop blue Gnomeo and red Juliet from falling in love with each other. Do they have a future together? Popcorn complimentary.

Mohonk Masquerade

Mohonk cordially invites you to lose yourself in an evening of mask making and masquerading at our mountaintop castle. Join us from 8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. in the Lake Lounge for festive crafts with Casey Carr. Design your own identity by coloring, sequinning, and pasting together a custom mask to wear to the 9:00 p.m. Mohonk Masquerade featuring the Big Blue Big Band. Parade the hallways to our local vendors for a taste and sip, and enjoy a photo op to capture tonight’s memory.

Chiu Family Salon Concert

Known for his innovative and engaging programs, acclaimed concert pianist Frederic Chiu occupies a special place in the world of classical music and in the hearts of Mohonk regulars. This evening’s salon style features the large Chiu family, paying tribute to Patricia Smiley Guralnik on for her birthday, founder of Mohonk’s summer Festival of the Arts and features several of Pat’s favorites including works by Chopin, Debussy and Prokofiev.

Art in the Garden

Mohonk’s Garden Supervisor, Clinton Claussen explains the process behind this year’s garden theme, “An Artist’s Garden”. Clinton will share insights about the plants, colors, textures and emotions that inspired each specific artist’s sections in the garden. Following the lecture, he will lead you on a stroll through the Show Garden.
