Celebrating Earth Day in Pictures and Poetry
In celebration of Earth Week and Mohonk’s century-long commitment to environmental stewardship, we shared some of our favorite nature-inspired quotes and classic Mohonk landscapes on social media this week.
All of these quotes came from our Director of Mindfulness Programing, Nina Smiley, Ph.D.’s new book, Mindfulness in Nature. This pocket-sized book is a collection of thoughts from writers, naturalists, poets, artists, and philosophers, encouraging readers to look to nature to expand their hearts and minds.
Nature calls forth in us a joy that elevates ordinary moments, and a humility that offers a touchstone for understanding the Universe, as it simultaneously centers us deeply in the moment.
