Each month, Mohonk bartenders compete to create a specialty craft cocktail for the resort. They are given one key ingredient, or theme, which must be featured in their seasonal creations. This month’s key ingredient was “Buckwheat Whiskey” cocktails. A select group of lucky Mohonk employees get to taste, discuss, and vote on the winning “Cocktail of the Month,” which can be enjoyed by guests in the Carriage Lounge among a variety of hyper-local draft beers and New York spirits.

The “Bough By the Fireside” is the perfect drink as an after dinner cocktail. It instantly brings you to a place of comfort and warmth like relaxing by an evening fireside.

2 shots Espresso
1.5 oz Buckwheat Whiskey
1 oz Cinnamon Syrup
Dash Walnut Bitters
Layer all ingredients into an Irish coffee cup. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with cinnamon.
