Grilling is an essential summertime activity. This year, try your hand at making the Perfect Backyard Burger. Enjoy the 4th of July with these tips and tricks!
Instructions
- Preheat your grill to medium heat. Gauge the temperature by holding your hand 6-inches above the grill. If you can stand the heat for no more than 4 seconds, your grill is ready.
- Avoid using your spatula to press down on the burger while it is cooking. This will help keep the burger tender and juicy.
- Flip your burger only once – 3 minutes per side for medium rare.
- Allow your burger to rest for a few minutes before serving.
Tip: If you get a flare-up, close the lid for 15 seconds. Fires get bigger with the presence of oxygen to cutting off the flare-up’s supply will safely extinguish it. Using water to put out the fire can cause grease to explode.
