$35 per adult (ages 13+) $30 per child (ages 4 – 12)
Whether you seek the challenge of steep trails over boulders and cliffs or prefer a relaxing stroll along carriage roads, you’ll find your path on the private property of Mohonk Mountain House. There are 85 miles of winding Hudson Valley hiking trails to experience, ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced. To prepare for your day of hiking, we recommend bringing a packed meal, bottled water, rain gear, and a headlamp.
Please note, we do NOT permit bus groups. Our hiking parking lot is unable to accommodate full sized buses, including charter and school.
Day Passes are valid for the entire day, regardless of the time slot selected.
Rock scrambles and foot paths are closed for the season.
Pass Details
Hiking Day Pass Includes:
Your hiking pass is good for the date specified on your confirmation email. Your hiking pass includes:
- Access to the 85 miles of hiking trails on Mohonk Mountain House property.
- Parking – located adjacent to the Mohonk Gatehouse (approximately 2.2 miles from the Mountain House. There are restroom facilities and vending machines in this parking lot)
Important Notes & Policies:
- Bus groups are not permitted (including full sized charter and school buses).
- Drones are not allowed to be flown on property.
- Hiking begins and ends at the parking lot at the Gatehouse, and we are a “carry in, carry out” trail system. There is no shuttle or transportation provided.
- Hiking is permitted during daylight hours, from 7am to dusk.
- A hiking pass does not include access to the interior of the house or lake swimming.
- Please bring your own food and water for your day of hiking. There is no food facility for hikers.
- Pets are not allowed on our private property.
- The purchase of the trail pass is non-refundable and available for booking at a first-come-first-serve basis 72-hours in advance of your planned arrival date. (For example, if you want to visit Mohonk with a hiking trails pass on a Saturday, the earliest you can purchase these passes is the Wednesday prior)

Labyrinth + Lemon Squeeze Rock Scramble
Suggested for 8 and up. From the Lake Porch, begin on Lake Shore Road. Labyrinth opening is located directly across the Lake from the Mountain House. Featuring narrow crevices and rock formations that demand agility and nimbleness, this unique trail presents adventurers with a combination of natural beauty, physical challenge, and a touch of adventure. Return via Sky Top Road to pass Lily Pond.

Sky Top Tower
From the Lake Porch, take Sky Top Path until you reach the Tower. On a clear day, six states can be seen from the observation deck. Return via Sky Top Road to pass Lily Pond.
In winter, from the Lake Porch, take Huguenot Drive to Sky Top Road.

Eagle Cliff: Mindfulness Hike – Virtually guided by Nina Smiley Ph.D.
From the Valet Porch, take Eagle Cliff Road past the Tennis Courts for an easy-moderate walk through the lush forests. Scan QR codes along the way at summerhouses & look-outs to be guided through a mindfulness exercise with Nina Smiley Ph.D. herself.

Copes Lookout
From the Valet Porch, take Copes Lookout Road past the Tennis Courts to the Scenic Vista at the end of the road loop. Return via Copes Lookout Path.

Around the Lake
From the Valet Porch, start toward Eagle Cliff, then descend the stairs to the Bathing Beach. Turn right and take Undercliff Path to the cool woods at the southern end of the Lake. Return via Forest Drive and Lake Shore Path and Road.

Mohonk Spring
From the Lake Porch, pass the boat dock and head across the wooden bridge. After the sign to the Labyrinth, turn left on Spring Path to the Mohonk Spring, once used as the source of the resort’s drinking water. Return via Forest Drive and Lake Shore Road.
