Mixology: Mohonk Glühwein Cocktail Recipe

Mulled Wine

Each month, Mohonk bartenders compete to create a specialty craft cocktail for the resort. They are given one key ingredient, or theme, which must be featured in their seasonal creations. This month’s theme called for “hot” drinks! A select group of lucky Mohonk employees get to taste, discuss, and vote on the winning “Cocktail of the Month,” which can be enjoyed by guests in the Carriage Lounge beginning today among a variety of hyper-local draft beers and New York spirits.

Mohonk Glühwein

After ice skating, come down to the Carriage Lounge for a Mohonk Glühwein and bring a warm glow into the cold winter.

Ingredients

Mulled Wine Mixture:

  • 1C Brown Sugar + 1C Water + Spices and a squeeze of orange
  • 750 ml Frontera Pinot Noir

Mohonk Glühwein:

  • 3/4 oz Jim Beam Bourbon
  • 6 oz Hot mulled wine mixture
  • Orange twist garnish

Method

Heat the mulled wine mixture with the pinot noir.

When serving, add the bourbon and garnish with an orange twist.
