Mohonk Tulip Festival
April 29 – May 9, 2024
We celebrate tulips and the beauty of nature as the natural landscape springs to life. Our Festival features daily garden and property tours, tai chi in the garden, artwork from local colleges, campfires with live music, demonstrations with Mohonk’s Beverage and Pastry Team, daily crafts, and specialty teas including raspberry hibiscus, rooibos red, jasmine green, and berry infusion.
Art in the Garden and Mountain House
We’re thrilled to showcase artwork from college students at SUNY Ulster during the Tulip Festival. Stroll through the show garden to spot wire bird sculptures—can you find them all? Featuring a great-horned owl, scarlet tanagers, wild turkey, a mourning dove, great blue heron, and more, the work of these students will be displayed inside and out, celebrating the winged wonders who call our region home.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

OH, DEER—THE TULIPS!
This year, our Victorian Show Garden sadly features far fewer tulips than we’d hoped for. In an unplanned development, aided by uncharacteristically soft ground and a lack of snow cover, our highly motivated deer population overcame our fencing and deer-repelling fertilizer. They consumed about 9,000 of the tulip bulbs our gardeners planted last fall. Thankfully, the deer were generous enough to leave about 800 bulbs in our Show Garden and the beds by our Gatehouse for you to enjoy.
However, the celebration will go on, and the beautiful surviving tulips that remain at the garden and Gatehouse will be here to entrance you, alongside all of our Festival activities.
