Snowshoes allow you to explore places you can’t reach by skis for incredible views and outdoor exercise. Mohonk offers guests the opportunity to explore 30+ miles of trails while snowshoeing in Upstate NY.

Come up for crisp mountain air and the most scenic Catskills winter hiking!

Cross-Country Skiing

Winter months

Glide through a network of 30 miles of groomed trails leading to magnificent views and sweeping vistas. Choose your level of challenge with our trails of varying difficulty.

Row Boating

Mid-April – Late October

Enjoy a peaceful moment in nature during a leisurely row around Lake Mohonk. Our classic wooden row boats are uniquely designed for Mohonk Mountain House.

Guests under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Pedal Boats

Mid-April – Late October

There’s something uniquely relaxing about our two-person paddle boats. You and your co-captain can gently circle Lake Mohonk by pedaling with your legs.

Guests under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Kayaking

Late May – Early September

A kayak brings you closer to the water as the sun warms your skin and fresh mountain air rushes over your body.

Guests must be 16 or older to use kayaks.

Canoeing

Early May – Late October

Discover the local flora, fish, and wildlife as you paddle around our half-mile long lake. Bring your favorite book and enjoy the serene beauty of Lake Mohonk from the comfort of your canoe.

Guests under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

Paddleboarding

Late May – Early September

Our stand-up paddleboards will test your balance and agility and offer an entirely new way to experience our lake.

Guests must be 16 or older to use paddleboards.

Fishing

Mid-April – Late October

Each spring, we stock our lake with rainbow trout for the busy season ahead. Lake Mohonk is an ideal spot for catching the oversized trout that swim below. Fishing equipment and rods are available for rent as well as live bait and power bait are available for purchase at the Boat Dock.

Fishing is reserved for guests with a Stay Experience only. Equipment is available for an additional fee.

Beach Swimming

Late May – Early September

Cool off from the heat with a refreshing dip in our glacial mountain lake, or sun yourself on our sandy beach and take in the peaceful view.

With stunning panoramic views of the Catskill Mountains, our indoor swimming pool is a tranquil escape in nature. Stretch out in our lounge chairs or take a dip in our 60-foot-long heated pool, complete with relaxing underwater music.

Snow Tubing

Fun for kids and the kids at heart! Head to our hill and take snow tubes out for a thrilling ride. Whether you are riding solo or racing a friend, snow tubing at Mohonk is an amazing way to enjoy the outdoors – no experience necessary!

Equine

April – November

Embark on a scenic horseback ride through the breathtaking trails of Mohonk. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced rider, our guided equine adventures provide the perfect way to connect with nature. Pony rides are also available for younger guests. Explore history, tranquility, and the beauty of the mountains from a unique perspective.

Archery is the ancient art of awareness, precision, and survival. Learn how to quiet your mind and focus your aim in this tranquil, natural setting.

Learn how to adapt to changing conditions and master the art of balance, aim, and power.

Ice Skating

November – Early April

Glide across the ice on our award-winning skating rink, perched high above the lake in our outdoor, open-air pavilion. Our Skate Shop provides ice skates free of charge with a Stay Experience.

Kids’ Club

Weekends & Holidays Year Round | Daily Mid-June – Early September

Mohonk Kids’ Club is a complimentary drop-off program for children ages 4-12, designed to include plenty of playtime while exploring the natural wonders and beauty of Mohonk. Applauded as one of the “Best Hotel Kids’ Programs in the U.S.” by Travel + Leisure magazine.

Available only to guests with a Stay Experience.

There’s nothing better to do on a cool night than sitting by a fire, roasting a marshmallow, and sharing stories with loved ones and new friends.

Movies

Year Round

Grab your popcorn and a comfy seat for our nightly in-house movie. Check the Main Bulletin after 5pm for daily movie selection and location. During the summer, family-friendly movies are shown under the stars.

Lawn Games: Bocce,
croquet, shuffle board

Spring – Fall

Enjoy classic backyard lawn games with friends and family at Mohonk. Guests can play bocce, croquet, and shuffleboard, which are located near the tennis courts. All equipment is available on-site.
