Curated by 4th generation Smiley family member Maria Guralnik, the Summer Festival of the Arts provides an opportunity for guests to experience a wide range of outstanding artists and entertainers.

JULY 6 – JULY 12

Singer Songwriters of the 70’s

JULY 6 | 9PM

The Festival of the Arts at Mohonk launches with a tribute to musical icons of the 70’s including Billy Joel, Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Simon & Garfunkel, Carole King, CSN, Neil Young, and, of course, JONI!! Headlined by cabaret artist and entrepreneur Lauren Fox and Scott Chasolen, multi-instrumentalist and keyboardist for the acclaimed Pink Floyd tribute band, The Machine.

Viennese Classical Salon Music

July 7 | 5pm

Juliet Kurtzman and Renee Guerrero offer an afternoon of Viennese salon music for violin and piano. From Beethoven to Kreisler, the duo will explore how a variety of composers were inspired by Vienna’s traditions.

Pete Malinverni Quartet

July 8 | 9pm

Pianist/composer/educator Pete Malinverni shares his stylish interpretations of the music of Harold Arlen, one of the greatest composers of American music. From “Stormy Weather” to “Get Happy” to “Over the Rainbow”, Buffalo, NY native Arlen helped change the artistic landscape of the world with his singular melodic and harmonic style, truly American, and tinged with the Blues.

Queen Mary: A Tribute to Queen

Led by Mel Muscarella, who channels Freddie Mercury’s legendary charisma and vocal prowess, this band delivers Bohemian Rhapsody, We Will Rock You, and Don’t Stop Me Now with authenticity and joy! Backed by stellar musicians and a dynamic stage presence, Queen Mary recreates the magic of a live Queen concert like never before.

Tribute to John Denver with David Lutken

Experience a “Rocky Mountain High”at Mohonk when David Lutken and his band of multi-talented collaborators gather for this tuneful concert tribute to John Denver. Join in for Country Roads, Annie’s Song, Leavin’ on a Jet Plane, Thank God I’m a Country Boy, Back Home Again, and other timeless songs about nature, love and America at her best.

Sarah King and the Smoke Rings

The Smoke Rings evoke the elegance and charm of the Swing Era. Anchored by the evocative vocals of Sarah King, the group specializes in songs from The Great American Songbook. Ms. King is well known to Manhattan audiences and was featured in an episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

Raina Trio on the Porch at Mohonk

Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez Trio

JULY 13 | 9PM

Raina Sokolov-Gonzalez is a singer and composer based in Brooklyn, New York. With both Hispanic and Jewish heritage, Raina comes from rich traditions of storytelling. Though her powerhouse vocals are the first thing to catch the ear, it is Raina’s lyricism and stories that make her an important voice of our time. Her sophomore album will be released in late 2025.

New Ohio

July 14 | 9pm

Led by singer/multi-instrumentalists Matt Cusack (Broadway: One Man, Two Guv’nors, Bandstand) and Allison Kelly (Apple TV+), New Ohio shines the musical light on country duos. Sway and croon along to classic and contemporary favorites by Johnny Cash and June Carter, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn, John Prine and Irish Dement, Chris Stapleton, Kacey Musgraves, and More!

Trout Fishing in America

July 15 | 9pm

Trout Fishing in America is the powerhouse songwriting collaboration of Keith Grimwood and Ezra Idlet. For almost 50 years, their vibrant, percussive sound and dynamic stage presence have cultivated a multi-generational fan base at performing arts centers, clubs, and music festivals all around the country.

Isle of Klezbos

July 17 | 9pm

This soulful, fun-loving all women’s ensemble approaches Yiddish musical traditions with loving irreverence and profound respect. Based in Manhattan, the group has toured from Vienna to Vancouver since 1998, performing neo-folkloric tunes, re-grooved standards, and genre-transcending originals.

Mario Rincon and Folklore Latino

Local singer/folklorist Mario Rincon performs a melange of Latin-American roots music with an international quartet. Move to the pulse of Cuban son, Colombian cumbia, and classic NY salsa!

Rhett Miller and the All Stars

July 19 | 9pm

Rhett Miller, frontman for the legendary Texas rock and roll band Old 97’s, brings his lineup of Hudson Valley all-star players to perform a selection of songs from his vast catalog, as well as the songs that influenced him – from Neil Young to David Bowie and beyond.

The Pre-Fabs

JULY 20 | 9PM

Slick your hair, put on your poodle skirt, and get ready for a sock hop. These “Daddy-O”s bring the origins of Rock and Roll to life with classic favorites and deep cuts from the ’50s and early ’60s.

The Mammals

July 21 | 9pm

The Mammals are Hudson-Valley based folksingers Ruth Ungar, Mike Merenda, and a cohort of compelling collaborators who form a touring quintet on the fiddle, banjo, guitar, organ, bass, and drums. Over the past 20 years they have quietly composed a canon of original songs that both reflect our culture and offer a vision of how the world might yet be.

Frank Vignola Trio

Well-known to jazz lovers and Manhattan’s Birdland regulars, legendary guitarist Frank Vignola hosts an evening of standards studded with virtuosity and served with inimitable panache. Featured artists: Frank Vignola (guitar), Gary Mazzaroppi (bass) and Vinny Raniolo (guitar).

Soul Purpose

Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, Soul Purpose is a seven-piece band fueled by a shared love of Soul, New Orleans Funk, Swing, and R&B. Led by saxophonist Dr. Lori Morris, tonight will be an evening delivering visceral rhythm, boisterous energy, and joy to lift your heart.

Join hit Hudson Valley dance band, Fishbowl, for an evening of your favorite pop and disco tunes. Dive into their eclectic melodies and immersive rhythms, where every note swirls into an ocean of musical exploration and vibrant sonic landscapes.

The Chivalrous Crickets

JULY 27 | 9PM

Family band, the Chivalrous Crickets, create wild and imaginative arrangements at the intersection of traditional Celtic, American roots and early Classical music.

The Murphy Beds with Liz Hanley

July 28 | 9pm

Eamon O’Leary and Jefferson Hamer (aka The Murphy Beds) craft their own blend of traditional and original folk duets for bouzouki, guitar, and mandolin. They are joined for their Mohonk festival debut by fiddler/vocalist extraordinaire Liz Hanley. Expect an exquisite delivery of traditional songs and fiddle tunes from Ireland and America, with three-part harmony vocals not often heard in the genre.

Amici Dell’Opera

July 29 | 9pm

Four outstanding singers and two formidable pianists join forces to share operatic highlights by Puccini, Donizetti, Mozart, and Bizet alongside popular tunes from the American Songbook. Enjoy an evening of heartfelt romance and dreamscapes.

The Katie Mitchell Band

July 30 | 9pm

Visiting the mountaintop from Long Beach, Long Island, KMB is known and loved for their mix of originals, eclectic set of covers, and a sound ranging from classic rock to folk-pop. They cover artists from Lady Gaga to Led Zeppelin and The Beatles to lesser-known groups such as Lucius and Wet Leg. Once this band gets going, you won’t be able to resist dancing and singing along!

Latin Dance with Big Beet

July 31 | 9pm

Big Beet is a percussive quintet blending jazz, Caribbean, Brazilian, and Afro-Latin rhythms into a danceable, electrified groove. Join them for a night of drums and dance, featuring dance performers of Forró, Salsa, Samba, and more. Audience participation is very much encouraged!

Established in 2014, Hillbilly Parade is one of the most sought-after Top 40 Country Cover Bands in the Hudson Valley. Most known for their witty stage humor, line dancing, and high energy tuneful sets, Hillbilly Parade is sure to get any crowd’s attention.

The Classics

The Classics are a power trio playing all of your favorite funk, soul, and reggae jams from the 70’s until now. All members have an extensive background in jazz which allows them to create unique arrangements and revitalize songs while paying homage to the original artists. Prepare to be inspired by this rhythmically tight and full sounding band.

Swing Dance with the Vanaver Caravan

AUGUST 3 | 9PM

The Vanaver Caravan, an acclaimed Hudson-Valley based dance and music ensemble, hosts a special program exploring the swing dances of the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s through dynamic performances. Following the program, audience members are invited to join company members on the dance floor to swing along, all ages welcome!

Fiddling with Traditions

AUGUST 4 | 9pm

Join Appalachian fiddler Gretchen Koehler and pianist Daniel Kelly for this toe tapping, multimedia concert inspired by Mohonk’s traditions and history. Experience imaginative soundscapes that capture the essence of hiking, ice harvesting, boat building, and more. The concert unfolds against a backdrop of film and photography, immersing audiences in unforgettable mountain magic!

Nicole Zuraitis Band

Nicole Zuraitis is a 2X GRAMMY-winning and 4X GRAMMY-nominated jazz singer-songwriter and vocal chameleon who headlines iconic NYC jazz clubs like Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, Birdland, the Blue Note and the Carlyle. With a “heart as big as her remarkable voice,” (Jazz Police) Nicole’s effervescent personality and boundless enthusiasm for sharing the joy of music keep her audiences enthralled.

Danny Lipsitz and The Brass Tacks return to Mohonk for this swanky and eclectic evening of jazz, swing, klezmer, and cabaret-inspired entertainment. Their dynamic and highly engaging program showcases the Hot Blues and Funk stylings of guest vocalist Seydurah Avecmoi.

Stoop Kidz Brass Band

Stoop Kidz Brass Band formed in the fall of 2020, bringing their fresh and funky take on dance music to their Brooklyn community, hungry to let loose and party. With a mix of pop and hip hop covers, and original music for brass, the Kidz are bringing the joy of their popular Stoop shows to venues all over.

Woody Sings: The Musical Legacy of Woody Guthrie

Broadway veteran David Lutken and The Seat Of The Pants Band share the depth and breadth of Woody Guthrie’s music: songs Guthrie wrote, songs that inspired him, as well as songs from artists whom Guthrie continue to inspire from Leadbelly and Pete Seeger to Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Janis Ian and Bruce Springsteen. An evening of humor and heartache, stirring ballads and energetic foot-stompers with an award-winning, multi-talented group of musician/actor/singers — Come sing along!

Sunny Side

This seven-piece jazz band based out of New Orleans is heavily influenced by the music of Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Fats Waller, and many other early jazz legends. Their infectious lively spirit and rich music traditions from the streets of the “Big Easy” will be in full swing on their fifth national tour from New Orleans to New York.

Sweet Megg

Sweet Megg is a genre-blending vocalist and songwriter, weaving jazz, country, and blues into a sound that’s both timeless and fresh. Originally from NYC and now based in Nashville, she’s traveled the world, honing her craft everywhere from Parisian jazz clubs to Southern honky-tonks.

Featured on NPR, This in demand NYC-based combo gives new life to Jazz and Blues songs created over 100 years ago! The group is composed of some of Manhattan’s best Vintage Jazz players including Charlie Judkins on piano, Brian Nalepka on bass and Tuba, Andy Stein on Violin, and Miss Maybell on Voice, Banjo and Guitar, and a tricked out Washboard.

Americana Women

Featuring four multi-instrumentalists from Manhattan, Americana Women is distinguished by their tight harmonies, sizzling solos, and passion for bringing more female artists to the spotlight. Celebrate classic to contemporary hits from the Queens of Country and Folk such as Joan Baez, Dolly Parton, Patsy Montana, Lucinda Williams, Brandi Carlile, The Chicks, as well as original music.
