Music abounds as the mountaintop summer ends with compelling and influential artists. Our weeklong festival highlights an ocean of genres including jazz, classic rock, baroque, soul, bluegrass, R&B, and Broadway all tied together with Israeli, Jamaican, Austrian, and American-grown styles.

Monday, September 4

Sivan Arbel

Sivan combines poignant songwriting, modern rhythmic language, and fiery improvisation. She playfully layers her artistic expressions with her love for jazz and other diverse musical influences that are grounded in her Israeli roots and global travels.
Tuesday, September 5

Vinnie Martucci Trio

Pianist Vinnie Martucci (former Chair of Music, SUNY New Paltz) is joined by drummer Jeff “Siege” Siegel (Adjunct Professor of Percussions, SUNY New Paltz) and bassist Rich Syracuse (Professor for String and Electric Bass Studies, Skidmore College, Hotchkiss School, and SUNY New Paltz) to round out this trio of dynamic artists. This afternoon’s jazz will reverberate across Lake Mohonk and greet you wherever you are in nature.


Danny Lipsitz and the Brass Tacks

Danny Lipsitz and The Brass Tacks perform an interactive and dance-filled evening of music from the 1940s, 50s, and 60s. You will hear songs from Ray Charles, Louis Prima, Elvis, Little Richard, Louis Armstrong, and many more presented in Danny’s signature, spectacular entertainment style.

Singer Songwriters of the 70’s

New York based cabaret artist and entrepreneur Lauren Fox focuses on musical icons of the 70’s including Billy Joel, Jackson Browne, Stevie Nicks, Simon & Garfunkel, Carole King, CSN, Neil Young, and, of course, Joni! Scott Chasolen, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, composer, and keyboardist of the acclaimed Pink Floyd tribute band, The Machine completes this powerhouse duo.


Jonah Smith

Semi-finalist of America’s Got Talent Jonah Smith has risen as an acclaimed American artist, releasing several records and has performed around the world at places including Bonnaroo, BAM Festival in Barcelona, The Bowery Ballroom in NYC, Radio City Music Hall, Ronnie Scotts in London, and SXSW. Tonight’s show highlights a mix of soul, rock, and folk; tied all together in rich musical harmony.

The Big Takeover

Fronted by Jamaican-born singer and songwriter Nee Nee Rushie, The Big Takeover plays original music rooted in genres and rhythms of Jamaican pop: reggae, rocksteady, and ska – while crossing lines and blending traditions of global pop fusionists. Their deceptively complex arrangements and big hooks connect with the spirit of Motown and the uptown sophistication of the 21st century retro soul and R&B revival scene.

Jay Ungar and Molly Mason

Jay and Molly are masters of acoustic roots music and storytelling who generously share their lives and their music with audiences. These extraordinary Hudson Valley-based musicians won international acclaim for their soul-stirring performance of Jay’s original Ashokan Farewell, the main theme of Ken Burn’s famed Civil War series for PBS.


A Broadway Evening with Stephanie Torns

Stephanie Torns was last seen as Jenna Hunterson in the Tony Award Nominated Musical WAITRESS, and before that, she was a part of the Broadway hit musical WICKED, where she performed the lead role of Elphaba in New York as well as the national tour. Come join Stephanie and her incredible band for a fun-filled night of Broadway favorites, contemporary tunes, and much more. Accompanied by Brian Russell Carey on piano, Taylor C Hays on guitar, and Benny Elledge on percussion.

Rhett Miller and the All Stars’ Lawn Party

Our final summer lawn party features classic cars, a taste of Hudson Valleys’ finest purveyors, as well as front man for the legendary Texas rock and roll band Old 97’s, Rhett Miller! This afternoon’s party welcomes a new lineup of Hudson Valley all-star players to perform alongside Rhett and his vast catalog of songs that influenced him – from Neil Young to David Bowie and beyond.

Hudson Valley String Quartet

The award-winning Hudson Valley String Quartet joins Mohonk House’s Music on the Mountain Festival with an elegant concert of classical music in the Parlor. The concert explores great works inspired by nature through the lens of master composers like Haydn and Puccini.
