This weekend at Kids’ Club we’re celebrating chocolate with hands on crafts and high-energy games to get out the sugar rush. This morning’s chocolate craft will feature our love of hot chocolate through fine art. Games will include Kids’ Club favorite, Gaga Ball. Drop off program for ages 4-12.

The Savory Side of Chocolate

Join Mohonk’s Executive Chef, Jim Palmeri, for a unique demonstration exploring the unexpected pairings of chocolate. Discover how to blend white, milk, and dark chocolates with surprising ingredients like bacon, potato chips, goat cheese, gorgonzola, caviar, and even coffee-rubbed steak kabobs. Rediscover chocolate in ways you never thought possible.

Chocolate Bar Love Note Wrapper Craft*

Turn an ordinary treat into extraordinary love notes! This chocolate lovers weekend, we invite you to unleash your creative spark and craft personalized chocolate bar wrappers that whisper sweet nothings to your fellow chocolate lover. Transform a chocolate bar into a mini masterpiece. Words and images will adorn the outside, crafting a tangible expression of your love that lingers long after the last bite. In this fun workshop, you’ll discover the art of collage with Circle Creative Collective’s expert guidance and craft a love note unlike any other: one that goes beyond a simple card, speaking volumes from your heart.

Chocolate Cocktails Tasting*

Explore the far-ranging use of chocolate through new and signature cocktails. Mohonk Mixologist Natasha Stanton will be our guide as we learn about preparation, presentation, and the flavors of these creative drinks.
*Note: Pre-registration is required. $40 per person program fee for admittance to the tasting. Space is limited. Participants must be age 21 or over to attend.

Evening Kids’ Club: Movie Night
9:30am – 12:30pm

Come to Kids’ Club for popcorn, chocolate, and a movie. What better movie for chocolate lovers than “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” (1971 version). Rated G – 98 minutes. Drop off program for ages 4-12.

Live Music with The 209s

The 209s are a five-piece R&B band from the heart of the Hudson Valley, NY. Rooted in powerful vocals with rich harmonies and accompanied by organ, guitar, bass, and drums–The 209s have a repertoire of unique originals blended with soulful renditions of well-loved classics, mostly from the 60s and 70s. Bonded in friendship, the 209s come together to share the fruit of their community-minded music-making.

Morning Kids’ Club

This morning’s ode to chocolate will be one unique to Mohonk. First, we can make our own homemade chocolate playdough. Then we can use the playdough to learn about animal ‘scat’ by make some chocolate sculptures. If you don’t like getting your hands dirty, you can go on a hike and maybe see the real life “sculptures” left by Mohonk’s wildlife. Drop off program for ages 4-12.

Chocolate Royal Icing Cooking Decorating with SweetAmbs

Expert cookie decorator Amber Spiegel has taken the Instagram world captive with her colorful, intricate, and delicious cookies. For every and any occasion, this morning’s demonstration will highlight Amber’s tips on using chocolate royal icing, as well as leading detailed floral cookie designs.
