Experience the Fourth of July like never before. A week full of activities for the whole family including a Fourth of July Parade, Fourth of July Carnival, Illumination of the Mountain & a Live Boat Dock Concert!
Mohonk Mountain House is not open to the public on the 4th of July. An overnight reservation is required to join in the 4th of July activities.

Kids’ Club
Come to Kids’ Club for some rousing rounds of Gaga Ball or relax and create a colorful banner for our July 4th parade. The fun doesn’t stop there, call 845-256-2186 for further activities offered in this session. Ages 4-12, drop off program.
Kids’ Club
Let’s get ready to celebrate America with a fun variation on one of our favorite pastimes. Not baseball, but… KICKBALL! We’ll meet at kids’ club, go over the basics, then head out with our bouncy red ball and let it fly. Ages 4-12, drop off program.
Tomahawk Throwing
Join us for some outdoor summer fun! This will be a hands-on lesson teaching you the basics of tomahawk throwing.

Kids’ Night Out: Night Hike
Let’s get out in the evening air and soak up the summer. We will hike to Sky Top Tower to get an incredible view of Mohonk Mountain House and up to six states! Bring comfy shoes and clothes for evening weather. Ages 4-12 only, drop off program
Outdoor Barn Movie: ‘Super Mario Bros Movie’
Enjoy a movie under the stars. Rated PG, 1 hour 32 minutes. 2023. With help from Princess Peach, Mario gets ready to square off against the all-powerful Bowser to stop his plans from conquering the world. Complimentary freshly popped popcorn too!
Rhett Miller and the All Stars
Rhett Miller, frontman for the legendary Texas rock and roll band Old 97’s, brings a new lineup of Hudson Valley all-star players to perform a selection of songs from his vast catalog, as well as the songs that influenced him – from Neil Young to David Bowie and beyond.

Kids’ Club
Come dressed in Red, White, and Blue for a fun and active holiday morning. Festive Fourth of July crafts and games all morning on this special day. Children always have a choice of getting crafty if the outdoors are not for them. The fun doesn’t stop there, call for further activities offered in this session. Ages 4-12, drop off program.
Open House at the Mohonk Fire House
Stop by the Mohonk Fire House for fun and festivities including fire extinguisher training, thermal imager demonstration, and more! Goodie bags and door prizes for kids, too!
Log Rolling Challenge Part 1
Come compete in our annual log roll challenge. Advanced sign up required. All participants must sign up on Wednesday, July 3 between 9:30 am – 5:30 pm at Concierge. Guests will receive a wristband after they have registered which must be worn to participate. The top 2 from each age group will advance to the final round at the 4:30 pm Water Show. Ages 10-12, 13-17, and 18+. An assumption of risk form is required for all participants.
Brisk Morning Hike
Brisk Guided hike along Lake Shore Road, Long Woodland Drive, Humpty Dumpty Drive and Copes Lookout Road. Approximately 3 miles. Sneakers or hiking boots required. Ages 7 and up.
Guided Mountain Bike Ride
Take a tour of the mountain on wheels! $35 mt. bike or $75 for an E-bike & helmet rental fee. Arrive 15 minutes early for fitting. Ages 16 and up. 4-6 miles.
Trumpet Across the Lake
From 1902 until the mid-1950s, bugle calls were performed daily throughout the summer to announce meals and entertainments. We are pleased to recreate this tradition on the Fourth of July with trumpeter Aaron Flagg. Best enjoyed from the East side of the House facing Lake Mohonk.
Parade Formation Location
If you want to march in the parade, please join us as we form the parade order. Come dressed up in costume or your favorite red, white, and blue attire! We step off promptly at 2:15 p.m.
Fourth of July Parade
Gather around the Putting Green to watch our annual Fourth of July Parade! Clap your hands to the sweet sounds of “The Hudson Seven” Riverboat Marching Band as you cheer for our parade line, including employees in costume, participants decked out in red, white, and blue, and the Mohonk Fire Truck! If you want to march in the parade, please join us as we form the parade order just outside Valet at 2pm. We step off promptly at 2:15pm.

Fourth of July Carnival
Directly following the Parade, follow our Riverboat Marching Band and head to our carnival for more fun! Popcorn, caricatures, and games abound alongside tastes of our local Hudson Valley Vendors. Make sure to snap a family photo in this year’s photo booth!
4th of July Water Show
Join us for this annual Mohonk tradition of family-friendly water competitions including porch diving! Ages 7 and up can participate in their age category with parental permission.
Registration is required to participate in the Water Show.
Parents must sign up their children between 9:30am – 3:30pm at the Information Summerhouse located across from the Boat Dock. Guests will receive a wristband after they have registered which must be worn to participate

Boat Dock Concert: “The Hudson Seven” Riverboat Band
Take in the beauty of Lake Mohonk and begin the evening festivities with the Riverboat Band, a Hudson Valley-based group directed by saxophonist Jason Clinton. Their acoustic and brass melodies will be an incredible kick-off to the Illumination Ceremony.
Illumination of the Mountain Ceremony
As dusk settles, a peaceful reflection of brilliant color glows from rocky ledges to a cliff-bound lake. A live musical performance paired with a spectacular fireworks display by Legion Fireworks is a unique way to celebrate July 4th. Readings by Tom Smiley and Eric Gullickson.
Square Dance with Eric Hollman Band
Join us after the show for a great night of traditional and family-friendly American contra, square and circle dances to a live fiddle band! No experience necessary—fun for all ages!

Reptile Encounters with Mark Perpetua
Have you ever heard a rattlesnake rattle? Did you know alligators have three eyelids? Meet these animals and more tonight with naturalist Mark Perpetua during an exciting Reptile Encounter. Mark will even wrap up with a giant python as he explains what makes reptiles such incredible survivors.
Evening Campfire, Marshmallows, and Music
Join local musician Vickie Obermeyer for an evening of family fun and songs by the campfire with roasting a delicious marshmallow treat!

Choose your adventure whether inside or out. Kids who are ages 7-12 can explore the trails and rugged paths in one of our famous rock scrambles. If you’re not up for hiking or scrambling, you can build a fort or create our very own catapult. Ages 4-12, drop off program.

Outdoor Barn Movie: ‘Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Rated PG. 1 hour 21 minutes, 2014. Enjoy freshly popped complimentary popcorn. Gum stuck in his hair signals the start of a disastrous day for 11-year-old Alexander. One calamity follows another, but when Alexander tells his family about his misadventures, he finds little sympathy.
