Watch a mystery unfold before your eyes at Mohonk Mountain House, the birthplace of Mystery Weekends! Performers act out each scene in front of you, and it's up to you and your team to solve the crime!
THE WISEGUY MURDERS
It's a huge night for The Family. Not only is it Big Paulie's birthday blowout, but it's been a long time since the whole crew all met in public like this. Mohonk Mountain House is the boys' favorite getaway and hideaway. It's going to be a momentous occasion—a real "bash." So why is Big Paulie so nervous? Is he worried he won't blow out all the candles? Or is he scared someone might blow him away? Keep your friends close. But don't trust anyone.

Our 147-year-old Victorian castle resort in the heart of the Hudson Valley rests beside a glacially-formed lake surrounded by thousands of acres of pristine wilderness. In winter, discover our open-air ice-skating Pavilion and 35 miles of groomed trails for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing (weather permitting). Inside we feature an indoor heated swimming pool, comprehensive fitness center, and yoga, meditation, and fitness classes. These exciting activities are included in your overnight rate, as are delicious meals. We also feature an award-winning Spa that offers a variety of treatments, an outdoor heated mineral pool, and a solarium for relaxation and renewal.
4:00 p.m. Team Registration—Scope Out the Scene When you arrive, take a good look around. Why do all those Cadillacs have such big trunks? And why’d that man just hand the valet so much cash? Who can you trust? Everyone’s a suspect—but you’re not alone. You can join your own "Gang" in the group that surrounds you. Your first order of business is to register on a team and plan your strategy—join "The Family" that you'll work with through the weekend, and who'll help you present your show-stopping solution.
9:00 p.m. The Opening! Don’t Miss Your First Clues The talk at the table says the chef just resigned—was he "fed up," or is it something more sinister? Tonight's menu calls for a dash of murder and a plate of red herring. Johnny Scudato, the underboss, looks unsettled. Was it something he ate, or did somebody get under his skin? You can practically taste the fear in the air tonight. Some folks are checking in, but they won't check out... alive! Keep your eyes peeled. You don’t want to miss a single piece of evidence.
10:00 p.m. Party Time! Sort out the lies as you ask the questions... like, “would you care to dance?” Come dressed as your favorite celebrity, gangster, tycoon, or heiress and kick up your heels (but don’t kick the bucket). Rosella, Big Paulie's wife, is doing The Twist. Or is that the plot? Follow every spin and shake, and listen closely to what people say. A “slip of the tongue” could mean the difference between who knows the score and who’s left out in the cold.
10:00 a.m. Watch What You Say... The party’s over. And somebody left last night ten toes up. The investigation is on. But the detective's out of his depth—was he paid off? He’s heard you were the last one to speak to the victim. He’s coming this way, so think sharp and be on your toes.
5:00 p.m. The Curtain Drops! The final scene for this year’s Mohonk Mystery. Just when you had it all figured out, a new clue comes along that changes everything. It's a roller coaster ride, and some people have their hands up in the air. Are they guilty? Were they framed? It's up to you to make the call.
9:30 a.m. THE END—Tell Us Whodunit! You’ve been up all night going over every detail with your team. Suddenly you realize you were missing a piece of the puzzle, and now it all fits! Bring your solution with you this morning for a chance to win a prize. You and your team act out your explanation any way you can—the more outrageous the better! One winner will be picked from the team with the most creative solution, and a second winner will be picked from the individual submissions, for being the most accurate. Each winner receives an overnight stay at Mohonk Mountain House!
Executive Producers John Merolla and Michael Morana began their work careers together in the late ‘80s at the world-famous Rainbow and Stars Cabaret. There was magic up there on the 64th floor atop Rockefeller Center. They hosted performers like Tony Bennett singing “Fly me to the Moon,” Rosemary Clooney, Karen Akers, Tony Danza, Liza Minnelli, Phylicia Rashad, Linda Lavin, Cybill Shepherd, and Lou Rawls, just to name a few. The magic didn’t stop there. Michael and John have been actors in many film and TV shows. They have produced short films, and plays for off-Broadway through the years, including their new dinner theater called “The New York Mob Show” that they co-wrote, produced, and star in. They were both lucky to be part of the cast of the Emmy award-winning hit show Boardwalk Empire. Both have been involved with Mohonk Mountain House’s Mystery Weekends, and are delighted to bring the mystery back to you this season.
See you there!
