Winter activities at Mohonk Mountain House

Mohonk Mountain House is a remarkable Hudson Valley winter resort. The lake freezes over, the trees are covered with a gentle blanket of snow, and the woods take on a serene silence. Spend the day exploring our spectacular natural acres, then warm up with complimentary afternoon tea and cookies.

Ice Skating

Our award-winning ice rink is open from Thanksgiving to early April. Enjoy recreational skating on the 9,375-square foot refrigerated rink in The Pavilion. In between sessions on your upstate New York winter day trip, warm up with a hot chocolate in front of an impressive stone 39-foot-tall fireplace.

Meal guests: Open skating is available to day guests who have purchased a meal in the Mohonk dining room. A fee of $17 per person, per session will be charged, which includes one skate session and ice-skate rental. In order to skate as a meal guest, meal reservations are required in advance. For meal reservations, please call  (855) 896-4955.

Skating guests: Day visitors may ice-skate midweek (non-holidays) for a fee of $17 per person per session. On holidays and weekends (Fri night, Sat, Sun), the fee is $27. Fees includes use of ice-skates, access to the ice, and self-parking at the Mountain House. Reservations are not required, but session times vary; we recommend that skaters call the Pavilion at 845.256.2775 prior to their visit for up-to-date information on the time and availability of skate sessions. Skate sessions are on a first-come, first- served basis. Some restrictions apply during weekends and holiday periods.
