Dancer / Dance Instructor
Karen’s specialties are the Lindy Hop and Jitterbug. She studied Lindy Hop and taught with Frankie Manning, one of the originators of the dance and a Lindy Hopper of legendary status. Karen also teaches traditional jazz dances like the Shim Sham Shimmy, as well as popular dances of the ‘50s and ‘60s. Karen was the director of the Big Apple Lindy Hoppers when they performed in Atlantic City, at Radio City Music Hall, and at the famous Roseland Ballroom. She has also performed at the Apollo Theater in Harlem. Karen teaches in New York City and is thrilled to be back at the Mountain House with Cousin Brucie.
Dancer / Dance Instructor
Jun was taught and trained by Frankie Manning and the Mama Lu Parks Dancers, and has been a performing and teaching partner alongside Karen Goldstein for many years. In addition, he was one of the prime movers behind the successful effort to place a commemorative marker at the site of the famous Savoy Ballroom in Harlem.
Singer / Musician
This New Jersey-based front man, singer, & harmonica player, has been a blues performer since 1967. But Rob is far from being strictly a blues musician. In fact, he’s at home playing a wide range of music, ranging from rock to blues to jazz to pop. Having toured in Japan, Italy, Spain, France, Russia, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, Rob’s Broadway, movie, and television credits are also extensive with appearances on Big River and The Will Rogers Follies, Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, and the CBS Early Show. Formerly a member of the Original Blues Brothers Band and leader singer with Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Rob released his debut CD “Etruscan Soul” in 2009.
