Bringing together ingredients and experience from Taiwan, Manhattan, Brazil, Miami, and our own Hudson Valley River Region, this weekend’s renowned chefs, and food experts will not only welcome you, but also challenge your palate exploration. Our featured highlights include Pastry Chef Amber Spiegel of SweetAmbs, guest judge from Chopped and Beat Bobby Flay – Chef Dale Talde, The Culinary Institute of America’s Asian cuisine expert of 33 years – Chef Shirley Cheng, and Mohonk’s own culinary team for their debut cooking competition.

Mohonk’s Debut Cooking Competition

Hosted by Executive Chef Jim Palmeri, the weekend begins with our own culinary team going head-to-head in a race against the clock. Make sure to get a seat and cheer your favorite chef to victory!

This unique culinary experience offers a glimpse “behind the scenes” as you dine in the heart of our fast-paced kitchen. You’ll meet our talented culinary team as they prepare and present a specially created 9-course tasting menu with wine pairing.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs – Build A Buddy Event*

Purchase cats and dogs in preparation for this evening’s movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs! Popcorn will be available complimentary. *Note: $30 per stuff animal.
Cocktail Competition & Tasting*

Led by Samuel Harris and Natasha Stanton, Mohonk’s Beverage Team comes together to show off their handiwork and share a taste of their creations.

SweetAmbs’ Cookie Baking & Decorating

Expert cookie decorator Amber Spiegel has taken the Instagram world captive with her colorful, intricate, and delicious cookies. For every and any occasion, this morning’s demonstration will highlight Amber’s tips on baking, as well as leading detailed floral cookie designs.
Chef Shirley Cheng presents Spicy & Mild Asian Cuisine

Featuring some of Chef Cheng’s favorite flavors, this afternoon’s demonstration includes spicy mala salmon and stir-fried shrimp with cucumber and red bell pepper. Neither would be complete without a bed of steamed rice!
Whitecliff Vineyards & Treeline Cheese Tasting*

Enjoy the timeless pairing of wine and cheese, right from the basket of the Hudson Valley River Region. Wines from Whitecliff Vineyards will be showcased alongside the delectable vegan cheeses from Treeline Cheese, while learning about the process of winemaking and cheese making.
*Pre-registration with overnight reservation is required. There is a $40 per person program fee for admittance to the wine and cheese tasting. Space is limited. Persons under age 21 may not attend the wine tasting

The History of Mooncakes & Tasting with Chef Shirley Cheng

Beginning with the mid-autumn festival, “Night of the Moon” as well as the revolutionaries of the 12th century Ming dynasty, the mooncakes presence is rooted in rich history. Join Chef Cheng to learn the richness of history and flavor of these delicious pastries.
KJ Denhert & the NY Unit

The NY Unit features award-winning songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist KJ Denhert. The group leans into KJ’s pop/rock influences and her vast repertoire of original music. KJ has garnered critical acclaim, earning numerous awards over a decade-long career.
