Spend The Day At Mohonk Mountain House

Imagine spending the day at Mohonk Mountain House. Arrive in the morning for a quick hike above Lake Mohonk, taking incredible photos of the Shawangunk Ridge. Enjoy a delicious buffet-style lunch in the dining room before heading out to the stables for a guided trial ride. Take a stroll through the lush gardens and greenhouse and pick up a few souvenirs in the gift shop before dinner. Take one last stroll out to the dock before heading home with priceless memories.

Day Hiking Passes

Whether you seek the challenge of steep trails over boulders and cliffs or prefer a relaxing stroll along carriage roads, you'll find your path at Mohonk Mountain House. There are 85 miles of winding trails to experience, ranging in difficulty from beginner to advanced. We recommend that you bring a packed meal, bottled water, rain gear, and headlamp.

Please note: Guests who are interested in visiting for the day may purchase a grounds pass at the Gatehouse and park in the adjacent lot. Hiking passes are subject to availability.

Parking space is limited and we encourage you to arrive early in the day, as day visitor parking can fill quickly on weekends and holidays. Hiking maps are provided by the Gate attendant. The suggested walking route from the Gatehouse to Picnic Lodge is Huguenot Trail to Whitney Road to North Lookout Road – there will be signs to Picnic Lodge. The distance is approximately two miles.

A hiking pass does not include access to the interior of the Mountain House or lake swimming.
