For overnight guests and day hikers who delight in exploring new culinary options, Mohonk's "Picnic Lodge" is the place! Stacked sandwiches, including "Eagle Cliff" (Mohonk Rotisserie Turkey and Provolone) and "Mossy Brook" (Albacore Tuna Salad with tomato and Bibb Lettuce) are offered daily at lunchtime to delight guests of all ages. Picnic Lodge has a wood-burning oven for gourmet pizza and specialty items. With its green checkerboard tablecloths and wooden porch, and surrounding outdoor area, Picnic Lodge provides the perfect setting for a casual dining alternative for our overnight guests, day hikers and conference special events of up to 250 people.

Along with overnight guests, day visitors may choose to have lunch at Picnic Lodge (weather permitting). A Day Visitor Hiking Pass is required. A limited number of passes are sold daily at the Gatehouse on Mountain Rest Road. Day hiking visitors park at the Gatehouse and walk in. Day hikers are not permitted to enter the Mountain House or to use the lake and its facilities.

Day hiking guests who have purchased a grounds pass may also bring their own picnic lunches and use the picnic facilities located at the Lodge, or they may purchase their lunch from our Picnic Lodge menu, seasonally.

Hours: 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.
Service daily from June 21 - September 6, 2010.
Lunch is served Saturdays and Sundays only from May 15 – June 20, and from September 11 – October 17, 2010 (and Columbus Day, Monday, October 11, 2010).
