Based on a philosophy that “lets kids be kids,” the program is designed to include plenty of play time while exploring the natural wonders and beauty of upstate New York.

Our Mohonk Kids' Club is located in the Council House, just beyond the putting green. The Mohonk Kids' Club is complimentary to overnight guests of our upstate New York family resort and is open year-round as described below. Many of our children’s staff members are certified in a minimum of Basic First Aid and CPR. Some counselors also have lifeguarding certification.
The Kids' Club is grouped into the following age groups:
Tykes
(2-3 years old)
For our 2- to 3-year-old guests, the Tykes’ Room is equipped with a wide selection of toys, including a play castle, kitchen set, wagons, rocking horses, trucks, blocks, puzzles, arts and crafts, and much more. Our enthusiastic staff will lead the Tykes in art, sing-alongs, dramatic play, and storytelling. The summer season is an especially nice time for Tykes to enjoy “furry friend” hikes, pony rides, boat rides, and visiting the playground. Our goal is to let children experience Mohonk’s natural setting and enjoy fun-filled activities at an early age.
Explorers
(4-6 years old)
The Explorers’ Program allows our 4- to 6-year-old guests the opportunity to take part in activities and make new friends within a defined age range. After the get-acquainted period, the morning and afternoon sessions will have several main activity choices. Children are grouped according to their interests and abilities. Depending on personal interests, some children may choose hiking or a frog hunt in the morning, while others may pick swimming and arts and crafts.
Adventurers
(7-12 years old)
The Adventurers’ Program caters to the needs and interests of our older Mohonk children. Our 7- to 12-year-old guests have the opportunity to explore their own interests, skills, and needs, within a smaller group. Activities available to the Adventurers include rock scrambling, tennis and golf clinics, orienteering, team building, and sports tournaments. In addition, the Adventurers’ own suggestions will be incorporated into the daily schedule in response to their varied interests.

With many of our young Mohonkers “graduating” from the Mohonk Kids’ Club, we now offer summer events and vacation explorations specially designed with teenagers (ages 13-17) in mind. Possibilities include rock scrambles, disc golf, golf and tennis clinics, and hikes.
At night, teens can enjoy a relaxed setting at the Teen Lounge, where they can play PlayStation® 2 and Wii™, watch movies, enjoy cards, games, and make new friends. The teen program is available from July 5 through the end of August.

Mohonk’s Summer Kids’ Club includes a Junior Naturalist program. Under the supervision of the Mohonk naturalist and children’s counselors, Explorers will enjoy hands-on experience with nature through walks to the Lily Pond, animal tracking, and tree identification;
Adventurers will dive deeper into Mohonk’s natural world, with fossil hunts, animal and plant identification walks, and arts projects where they can illuminate their discoveries. Each child will receive a hand-held lens (a very important naturalist tool), an interactive Junior Naturalist Handbook which contains fun activites, and a certificate making them an official Mohonk Mountain House Junior Naturalist.
