Along with meals by award-winning chefs and Afternoon Tea and Cookies, your Mohonk Mountain House experience includes an abundance of day, evening, and holiday activities unmatched by any other upstate New York resort.

Guided Hikes/Snowshoe Tours
Explore some of the 85 miles of hiking trails with a Mohonk staff member. Guided hikes/snowshoe tours are available twice a day, morning and afternoon.
History House Tour
Join a member of the Mohonk staff for a brief history and tour of the House and facilities of our New York State resort. Offered daily. Great for first-time guests!
Barn Museum Tour
Mohonk’s Barn Museum houses extensive exhibits of antiques—all once used at Mohonk. Many items date from Mohonk’s earliest years and are still in working order, testimony to the ingenuity and fine craftsmanship of an earlier era. The Barn Museum also features craft demonstrations illustrating the use of old techniques, including rustic carpentry, blacksmithing, and restoration of carriages and farm machinery. Our Barn Museum is located next to the stables. Tours and blacksmithing demonstrations are given regularly.

Mid-April to late May: Tuesday, Thursday-Sunday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Blacksmithing Demonstrations
Discover the techniques and skills used in the art of Blacksmithing. Demonstrations are given regularly at the Barn Museum.
Garden and Greenhouse Tour
Join a member of Mohonk’s gardening team and listen to the history of our gardens as your guide leads you down to our Greenhouse and Garden Shop for a tour of the tropics in bloom. Available year-round as scheduled.
Evening Hikes
A leisurely hike with the Mohonk staff naturalist offers an eye-opening experience of nature at night.
Movies
Catch a movie after dinner! All-time favorite classic, family, romance, and holiday films are shown every night in a quiet, intimate setting.
Campfires with S’mores
Campfires with s’mores are a frequently scheduled evening activity throughout the summer and fall season located on the banks of Lake Mohonk or in the Pavilion. Enjoy sing-alongs or a storyteller, and of course, gooey s’mores.
Ballroom, Square- and Contra- Dancing
Weekend evenings offer the chance to kick up your heels and whirl around a dance floor to a live band.
President’s Week
Kids Stay and Eat Free (ages 12 years and under) during this holiday time period. Enjoy family events and activities for all ages.
Easter
Easter Weekend is filled with family fun! Enjoy family crafts, dancing, nature programs, and fabulous evening entertainment. Easter Sunday begins with a morning Easter Egg Hunt accompanied by our very own Easter Bunny! Have your photo taken with the Easter Bunny and then head to the dining room to enjoy our Easter Grand Buffet!

Mother’s Day

Memorial Day Weekend
Start the season in a most memorable way! Enjoy a classic summer weekend during our Memorial Day Getaway filled with summertime traditions—campfires with s'mores, lake and pool swimming, boating, hiking, evening entertainment, and NEW activities including a family cardboard regatta, a pie-eating contest, a softball game, wacky relay races, and a fishing derby!
Father’s Day Weekend
Treat Dad to a great Father's Day Weekend with an exciting getaway at our House. The whole family will enjoy endless activities and our special Father's Day Weekend Events such as Father's Day Jeopardy, Tomahawk Throwing, and a Cardboard Regatta on Lake Mohonk, just to name a few. The weekend is full of fun events for the whole family, and some especially for Dad.

Family activities, a parade, carnival, fireworks, and so much more… Fourth of July on the mountaintop is a very special time.
Labor Day Weekend

Halloween Weekend
Mohonk Mountain House is the place you want to be to enjoy Halloween! The Mohonk staff is in costume and the resort is filled with an array of eerie decorations. Join us for a haunted Halloween weekend, where you can take part in a wide variety of ghoulish activities including: exploring a haunted castle for some scary surprises, listening to spooky stories around a crackling campfire, learning to carve intricate pumpkin designs at a carving workshop, and hiking amid spectacular fall foliage. Plus, don’t miss a unique opportunity to meet a live timber wolf.
Thanksgiving
Tradition plays an important role during this holiday at Mohonk Mountain House. Enjoy a festive family gathering with a fabulous feast that highlights the season’s bounty.
December Holiday Season
A popular destination for family holiday gatherings, is decorated for the season’s celebrations, with Victorian swags, kissing balls, and intricate gingerbread creations. More than a dozen beautifully decorated Christmas trees grace the House and grounds—including a 60-foot-Austrian Pine with 1,500 LEED sparkling lights.
On Christmas Eve, join in the Yule Log Hunt and Smiley Family Trim-A-Tree party. Christmas Day is a time for families to enjoy this magical time together during the Christmas meal and activities.
Join us for the lighting of the menorah every night during Chanukah.
